Off The Grainhttps://www.offthegrain.co.uk/

Side tables, chairs, coat racks – all beautifully handmade and crafted in Yorkshire just outside Halifax. Off the Grain believe that furniture is much more than a place to sit or hang your hat. Instead, it’s an investment in your quality of life in your home. Handcrafted in historic Yorkshire, every piece of Off the Grain solid wood furniture is designed to offer a combination of style and function. The result? Furniture that enhances living spaces and turns your house into a home.

They take great pride in their handcrafted approach, unique heritage, and reputation for creating beautiful wood furniture that is built to last. Of course, because customer service and value are a significant part of our company culture, they only sell directly to consumers, eliminating extra costs while allowing them to provide their customers with the care and attention they deserve.

From coat racks to shelving and coffee tables, Off The Grain have supplied furniture that you’ll find across Fernleigh At the Bay – and it all looks warm, welcoming and exquisite.

Chronologyhttps://chronologystore.co.uk

Chronology have supplied stunning shelving for the living room surrounding the beautilful fireplace as well as a custom made dining table fit for family gatherings.

Chronology started in owner Paul’s garage in 2014 where he focused on sourcing and restoring vintage and retro furniture. As the business took off, he started designing and building his own pieces, using both reclaimed and new timber. His signature style brings together solid wood—waxed to a beautiful, warm, rustic finish—paired with industrial style metalwork. He loves working with materials like steel tube, hairpin legs, and box section steel to create furniture that’s both sturdy and full of character.

Our beautiful bespoke dining table and grand shelves in the living room were both manufactured by Chronology.

The Yorkshire Blanket Companyhttps://yorkshireblankets.co.uk

When you come in off the beach or from a walk along the Cinder Track you want to collapse on a sofa with inviting cushions and at the end of the day you want to get into a cosy bed with blankets

… and to get that we went to The Yorkshire Blanket Company, turning surplus yarn otherwise heading for landfill into beautiful handmade items. Each blanket is individually hand cut and finished by themselves. Their blankets are constantly changing colour depending on the yarns used in the mill that week. Each roll of blanket is unique and never repeated resulting in beautifully unique items – in our case paired with the colour schemes of Fernleigh. All their items are made in their family run business just outside Barnsley in Yorkshire.

Baytown Cottages – https://baytownholidaycottages.co.uk

A place to stay wouldn’t be anything without local hosts, and that’s where Baytown Cottages come in. Baytown Holiday Cottages have been helping people find their perfect seaside escape in Robin Hood’s Bay since 2017. Run by two amazing passionate locals, Sam and Sian, they bring a rare mix of warmth, personal care, and real local knowledge to everything they do. They know the Bay and its properties like the back of their hand and take pride in matching every guest with the right place to stay — whether you’re here for a family getaway, a quiet break, or a bit of coastal adventure.

Based right here on the edge of the North York Moors, Baytown’s love for this landscape runs deep. We’re delighted to have them as our booking partners for Fernleigh At The Bay, they care about your stay as much as we do.

Creating Fernleigh At The Bay isn’t something that you can do alone, it takes a team – and one that we worked hard to find some of the best local tradespeople from around Robin Hoods Bay/Whitby and Yorkshire to help with. Baythorpe Homes and Gardenshttps://www.facebook.com/Baythorpe/

We first met Mark Fraser of Baythorpe Homes and Gardens over a coffee at The Victoria hotel and knew straight away that he was what we were looking for to both help us transform Fernleigh into what we wanted for letting, and to be a point of contact for guests staying should there be any issues whilst they’re with us.

What’s made Mark stand out is his attention to detail and passion he brings, his self-starting and problem solving approach got the work done faster and where others might have said something was a problem – Mark always found a way. We’d recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone that needed someone genuine, trustworthy and reliable – and would be more than happy to share with anyone interested some of the amazing work that he’s done at Fernleigh from fitting home automation to kitchens and doors.

Booths Decoratinghttps://www.boothsdecorating.co.uk/

Adrian and Jack Booth are a father and son team who live just outside Whitby and have been responsible for the transformation of Fernleigh downstairs. From their first meeting with us to view the property, to the last stroke of a paintbrush on a wall they’ve been great (and flexible) to work with.

Working with our beautiful Farrow and Ball paints, Adrian and Jack’s attention to detail from preparation to finish was second to none – and we can see why the Victoria Hotel chose them when they wanted a refurbishment done there.

Together they provided the kind of attention to detail, help and guidance that you could only hope for from someone you’re entrusting the look of your property to – and I have no doubt that we’ll be welcoming them back to Fernleigh in the future as we ensure that the house never ends up looking old and tired, and always has the fresh welcoming feeling that our guests would expect.

McLeans Cleans Laundrettehttps://www.mcleancleanslaundrette.co.uk/

At Fernleigh At the Bay we believe that true luxury is felt in the details, and that starts long before you arrive. We’re proud to work with McLean Cleans, a trusted, family run business based in nearby Whitby, who look after the careful cleaning of the house and the laundering of our linens between every stay. Their work ensures that Fernleigh is always presented at its very best, with beautifully prepared rooms, crisp bedding and soft, freshly laundered towels ready to welcome you.

McLean Cleans operates quietly behind the scenes, but their role is essential to the experience we want our guests to enjoy, that sense of calm, comfort and effortlessness from the moment you step through the door. By partnering with skilled local businesses who take genuine pride in their work, we’re able to maintain the high standards we set for Fernleigh, while supporting the people who help make this corner of the Yorkshire coast so special.
